Historical review and formation of Jiu Jitsu and Black Dragon Jiu Jitsu

In the historical review, information on the origin and history of Jiu Jitsu was given as military and combat skills and the development of Jitsu and the emergence of the Black Dragon Jiu Jitsu as one of the branches.
Through this cross-section the relationship between Croats and Black Dragon Jiu Jitsu is described and Black Dragon Jiu Jitsu comes to the land of the Republic of Croatia.

Jiu jitsu is a self-defense martial arts, one of the many ancient skills that have promoted Japanese samurai by training them in their closed, esoteric schools. Actually, Jiu Jitsu was taken from the Chinese circuit of martial arts, and as a rather coarse form of fighting the samurai have adapted their own life values and warships over the course of the century. "Jutsu" (soft skill or gentle skill) is the original name for the Japanese styles of martial arts that we now call jiu jitsu and are somehow known as sports skills, for example as the most famous of all Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu. But the original skill was a bit of a military character, it was teaching killer techniques of attack and defense and had nothing to do with sport. As such a skill began to develop in feudal Japan at the end of the 16th century, then in the Sengoku period marked by severe and bloody wars. During the Civil War, 17th and 18th centuries of skill were used as a combat technique by the samurai. After finishing the feudal age, or entering the Meji period, the samurai's skills became very much appreciated. On the other hand, after the creation of the Japanese empire, the samurai worldview, which was disproportionate to the modern perception of the role of a warrior, became controversial for high court circles, causing new war conflicts after which the samurai were ultimately defeated as a social group. Nevertheless, samurai values, particularly the effectiveness of their skills, continued to be implemented in the structures of the modernized Japanese army. Jiu Jitsu, as it seeks to achieve the goal of physical skill, is fundamental to the whole set of skills of a very complex training system and the life of a samurai. These skills are not only martial arts values, but also contain elements of spirituality, philosophy, science and art. Ultimately simplified, jitsu skills has developed from bu jitsu, which is a collective name for martial or war skills, which actually marks the complex system of various samurai specializations.
The bujitsu masters have known a number of unenriched techniques with the aim of neutralizing the opponents' attempts to attack, or forcing their opponents to surrender. Such unmanned techniques aimed at throwing an opponent with an unlucky fallout, a spinal curvature, or breakage of the neck have been designed to be deadly, or to disable opponents to the extent that they are unable to fight further. Jiu Jitsu also nurtures the techniques of kicking hands that are shaken to the most vulnerable points on the body.
Since Jiu Jitsu's armless martial arts skills, they have traditionally practiced harassment in conjunction with the armed combat methods that Japanese feudal warriors have persuaded, such as the case of chest-to-chest fighting in modern warfare.
Although throwing, kicking, choking and disarming techniques were an important part of military training, it was considered the techniques used as the last option when a warrior finds himself in a no armed situation. Thus, through the history of warfare and uninterrupted battles, there was a change in the way of war by adapting and applying different techniques and specializations. From the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, more and more schools began to specialize in the methods of unarmed combat needed out of the way, and they started to turn to the most effective unarmed techniques today known as Jiu Jitsu. Techies have changed over history and years, based on priorities, terms of customs and law.
Thus until the 20th century, Jiu Jitsu practiced exclusively for military purposes, but at the end of Japanese feudalism, martial arts and jitsu training came out of the box of secular schools and became part of the modern world. Following the abolition of the Samurai Order, Jiu Jitsu became available to people from lower social layers, so at the turn of the century, thanks to its efficiency jiu jitsu was included in the Japanese military and naval academy.
During the reign of Emperor Hirohita, jitsu taught many societies and was widespread. At the end of the Second World War, the allies declared the jiu jitsu school to be source of nationalist passions and were declared illegal.
So trying to keep the past in an acceptable way today has produced diluted or adapted programs for the modern age and man, who are not even the shadow of fights from the feudal times. So very rare bu jitsu schools that retained the original form became part of folklore, and many newly established schools adapted to the new and contemporary style of life and looks.

The Black Dragon Jiu Jitsu School draws its roots in history, and its originators Mitsuru Toyama from a poor Samurai family, one of the predecessors Jiu Jitsu forms studied by Professor Kam Hock Hoe, and in 1881 became one of the founders of the secret Japanese society of dissatisfied former samurais with the aim of encouraging military expansion.
Uchida Ryohei was a follower of Tyamin, and in 1901 he founded the Society of the Black Dragon, whose members were ministers in the government and military officers, and they also led the school of Espionage. Onisaburo Deguchi was best known as the teacher and spiritual mentor of the founder of aikido, Morihei Ureshiba. Isoroku Yamamoto, the Japanese Admiral and the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Navy, was also a jitsu junior master.
The moderator of the modern Black Dragon jiu jitsu was a prominent student of admiral Yamamoto, Kam Hock Hoe, who was allegedly born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on December 10, 1903, but accurate information about his early years of life is unknown. He began to engage in wrestling in 1919, and shortly thereafter began to practice jiu jitsu, and in 1925 he started a professional career in American All-in-America wrestling. After that, his coach became Professor Watanabe, and Professors Yamasaki and Hiwanabe. He departs in Shangai and Hong Kong in 1930 to try his wrestling skills and become a champion. According to Professor Yamanaka's recommendation, he was invited to the International Jiu Jitsu Institute in Kyoto to train and work, and 4 years later he was promoted to a degree of san dan. After that, Professor Hoe returned to Shangai where he participated in a series of wrestling battles and contests. The following year, in 1935, Professor Hoe was again invited to Japan where he trained with a friend and partner Yamashit practicing the Bankoku jiu jitsu technique.
Together with several Japanese Army and Navy officers, he was promoted to the highest level of Bankok Jiu Jitsu, and he gained the right to set up his own Bankoku jiu jitsu branch. In the Kam Hock Hoe Commission to achieve professor level in jiu jitsu was Admiral Yamamoto, master of Yamanaka Sensei (Prince of Jiu Jitsu) and master Watanabe (the living treasure of Japan). As Known Professor Hoe is the only non-Japanese who was praised by Japanese Emperor Hirohito because of promoting Japanese skill in warfare.
Master Graham Rennie began training in 1968 under professor Watanabe who was a lively treasure of Japanese martial arts, and completed training in 1972 with Professor Kam Hock Hoe. He returned in 1974 for an additional 6 months of training. During his learning, Master Rennie has successfully gained the title of menkyo kaiden, whose roots appear in the 8th century as the highest level of license in the system, and obtaining such a license is not determined by years of learning, but by discipline. In the mid 70's and 80's of the past century, Stjepan Grbavac began training Black Dragon jiu jits martial arts at master Rennie's school and gained recognition of the black belt on Dan 7, and gained status and knowledge of the best in the world. In addition to that is the fact that until 1988, in the school of master Graham black belt gained only 35 men and only three men gained the black belt on Dan 7, and one woman on the black belt on Dan 2.

The young Croatians from Australia, everyone in their own way, went to Croatia to participate in Croatis defense, many of whom were born in Australia and then for the first time visit Croatia. The Black Dragon jiu jitsu school was founded in Melbourne at the Croatian House. Among other Croats from Australia and Stjepan Grbavac declined the offer of the Israeli army for training their special units because of democratic changes in Croatia, and returned to Croatia as a volunteer in 1991 and joined the defense of Croatia.
Upon arrival in Croatia, Stjepan was deployed to the newly established Bojna Zrinski, and was in charge to train the members of the special unit for chest-to-chest combat. During the Homeland War, Stjepan Grbavac transferred his acquired knowledge and experience through the training of Croatian soldiers and members of special units, where he founded Black Dragon jiu jitsu school as part of the Croatian Armed Forces.
As Black Dragon Jiu Jitsu is military skill that has a fertile ground where such a skill is needed, and these are areas of warfare, so Black Dragon Jiu Jitsu is through the war in Croatia and selfless love and help of the Croats returnees from Australia came through Stjepan Grbavac on the Croatian soil. Through the training of the Croatian Army, and through the Black Dragon jiu jitsu school as part of the training of special forces, this military skill widened among Croatian soldiers and became popular as a military skill in the chest-to-chest combat and as a skill in building up psycho-physical ability.
Through the training program of special forces, as a member of the Bojna Zrinski unit, Ante Vukadin founder and chief coach of Black Dragon Bishido jiu jitsu club headquartered in Velika Gorica came up with Black Dragon jiu jitsu. During intensive military and combat training, as well as love at first glance with jitsu during the training years, Ante acquired the black belt on Dan 3. In 1996, the Black Dragon Jiu-Jitsu School reorganized its war-time program to meet the requirements for peaceful conditions and became open to the public. So Black Dragon Jiu Jitsu transfered from military skills into a martial arts skill, or a skills trained in civilian service for their needs such as the security, police and so on, while some of the former special forces squad members who trained Black Dragon jiu jitsu and gained the Black Belt continued Spreading and teaching Black Dragon jiu jitsu through their schools.
